I don't know go; so this piece looks (to me) just weird:

Depending on who comments. Since I don't know go, and last time I saw it was about 15 years ago... But I bet some Scala code looks much weirder.

Basic disclaimer: my POV is that nobody owes anything to anyone. That said...

I always thought that positive comments can be very generic (Looks good to me) but negative ones need to be specific.

So I would do either: "This looks weird to me because..." or "This looks rather strange to me. But I don't really know the language. So maybe just that"...
